Chapters Eleven - Twelve Summary
In Chapter Eleven, when the trio arrives at Aunt Pru's home, Aunt Pru mentions the ninth key and thinks it is odd. After Adam tells the elder mediator about Susannah's dream of the dead woman, Aunt Pru continues to pull up the ninth key, a tarot card with a picture of an elderly hermit. As Susannah goes to telephone her family to let them know she is on her way and will not miss dinner, the ghost of the "dreamed of" Mrs. Deirdre Fiske, one of the women who disappeared because she stood in the way of Beaumont Industries' development efforts, appears. Mrs. Fiske validates Susannah's suspicion that Red Beaumont killed her. As Adam drops Susannah off at home, she sees the black Beaumont limousine parked at her house.
