Part 3, Chapter 2 Summary

Winston lay on a bed. O'Brien is standing over him. There is a man with a white coat and a syringe. He reflects on the number of times he had been beaten and the length of each beating. He had confessed everything. He had admitted to things he hadn't even done. He rolled down a hallway shrieking with uproarious laughter and shouting confessions. O'Brien, the man in the white coat, Julia, and some others all rolled and laughed with him. During a moment of wakefulness he hears O'Brien's voice saying, "Don't worry Winston; you are in my keeping. For seven years, I have watched over you. Now the turning point has come. I shall save you, I shall make you perfect." The voice Winston heard was the same that he heard in his dream seven years ago; "I shall meet you...
