Summary

Chapter 7 – Ballister and Nimona are delighted with how their plan is unfolding. Nimona believes they will be victorious, while Ballister tells her she has proved her worth. Nimona decides to cook a celebratory dinner. Goldenloin calls, wanting a meeting in person. Ballister goes out to meet him at the Antlered Snake. Goldenloin tells Ballister to get rid of Nimona because the Institute has ordered Goldenloin to kill her. Ballister isn’t surprised the Institute is resorting to killing children. Goldenloin repeats that Ballister must get rid of Nimona so things can go back to normal. Ballister says Goldenloin gave up normal at the joust, while Goldenloin contends it was all an accident. Goldenloin goes on to say that Ballister never had it in him to be a hero. The two end up fighting. Ballister gains the upper hand, and considers cutting off Goldenloin’s...
