Summary

In Chapter 17, Alé takes Trevor to La Casa Taquería and Kiara calls Shauna to ask for a ride to Cole's house so she can see Marcus. Shauna picks her up and tells Kiara again that she is worried about Cole and Marcus dealing drugs. Kiara remembers when she and Alé met Shauna for the first time when they were 13. When a group of older boys surrounded Alé and Kiara and one of them grabbed Kiara, Shauna kicked the boy off his bicycle. In Cole's studio, Marcus tells Kiara he thinks his musical dreams will never come true and Kiara tells Marcus about everything that has happened with the police, including the fact that she thinks she is being followed. Marcus texts Cole to ask him to pick Kiara up and bring her home, but when he arrives, the police are there too...
