Summary

In Chapter 11, Kiara receives a call from Cole's girlfriend Shauna, who warns her that he and Marcus are dealing drugs. Shauna asks for Kiara's help but Kiara does not think she can do anything for her. Marcus arrives and takes Kiara to an underpass, where he gives her spray paint and the two graffiti a representation of one of Kiara's dreams — a girl in a yellow dress sleeping in a field of flowers. Marcus asks Kiara where she has been and Kiara tells him she is involved in sex work, which makes him angry. Kiara once again asks Marcus to get a job, but he has been determined to have a musical career since Uncle Ty became a rapper. Before Uncle Ty moved to LA, he and Marcus were close.
