Summary
Bobo agrees to close the pawnshop for the night and Lem and Olivia go to Dallas to find a vampire, Christine, who can translate the book (Chapter 18). Lem takes a truth ball with him that he can offer in exchange for her. Christine lives in a vampire nest and the owner of the house, Joseph Velasquez opens the door himself. He and Lem talk about how Joseph had sent his daytime servants to Midnight to look for someone because he had not wanted to offend Lem by sending people at night. The vampires agree to exchange Christine for the ball and Lem and Olivia take Christine back to Midnight.
