Lucas Davenport
The main character in the novel Night Prey, Lucas Davenport is a tall, broad man, with dark hair just starting to show gray and shocking blue eyes. Lucas has a faint scar near one eye that extends to his mouth, and a newer scar on his throat where he had been shot the year before. Lucas had left the Minneapolis Police Department two years ago and started his own computer company after a fight with a pimp. The new police chief persuaded Lucas to return and appointed him deputy chief. Hired to work intelligence, Lucas would use his street connections to help the department catch the most dangerous criminals and work with a team on any problem that might attract unwanted or unwarranted media attention. The possibility of a serial killer operating in and around the Minneapolis area is just such a case.
