Chapters 16-20 Summary

Lucas and Meagan meet with George Beneteau at the Carren County Courthouse. Beneteau takes them to the junkyard where the Hillerod brothers part out stolen motorcycles. They find Bob Hillerod at the counter. Lucas goes in the back where he finds speed spilled near the bathroom door. A man pushes a shelf onto Lucas, cutting his head. The man runs out the door and Lucas chases him to a dead end. The two fight and Lucas breaks the man's nose. The man, Earl, tells the investigators that Joe is at his house and they proceed there with search warrants.

At the house, Lucas and Connell find several people and more drugs. Joe Hillerod is upstairs with a woman, the wife of the local diner owner. In the dining room there are guns everywhere, guns stolen from gun stores during burglaries. Lucas...
