Summary
Grammy sits in the kitchen and offers David a pack of cigarettes under the mistaken impression that he is someone named Robbie. She has grown sick with old age and developed memory issues. Robbie was Grammy’s brother, and he died when he was very young. David plays along and refers to Grammy as Frances because Mom has told him to. David lights the cigarette and wonders who he should smoke like. Then he coughs and Grammy laughs, saying she thought he would be used to it after stealing the family’s supply of blessing tobacco. Grammy makes David coffee. She continues encouraging him to smoke cigarettes.
