Chapter 53 Summary

On the morning of September 11, 2001, at 8:15 a.m., three patrol cars arrive at the entrance to the Plaza Hotel. They pick up John, Kate and Jill and begin driving them to the twin towers. Kate is in the lead car with Officer Alvarez. Jill is in the middle car, and John is in the last car. Before getting into the car, John gives Officer Alvarez the videotape of A Man and a Woman that Jill recorded over, and he tells the officer to guard it with his life. John's car gets slowed by traffic, and he arrives at the North Tower after Jill and Kate. He walks into the entrance of the North Tower at 8:45 a.m. As he crosses the plaza, he begins to hear a distant roar, and then he sees a jet flying over Broadway and straight towards the North...
