Chapter 40 Summary

The two men exchange insults, and then they walk down the beach talking. Nash tells John that he realizes John wants to know whether Nash slept with Kate but that he's too afraid to ask. Nash tells John that he's not like John and all of his other cop buddies, who go around sleeping with women and talking about it, especially Dom Fanelli. Nash then tells John that he wanted to meet him there at the beach to warn him that he is snooping around into business that he has no right to be snooping into. Nash warns John that he is causing problems in his organization and that Yemen apparently did not teach John anything.

Nash then asks John what he was doing at the Bayview Hotel. John tells Nash that he was on vacation. Nash warns John to leave the case...
