Chapter 27 Summary

At 9:00 a.m. the next morning, John walks into David Stein's office at work. Stein tells John that he is in big trouble with Jack Koenig, and he asks John what he has done. John says he doesn't know. Stein asks John why he turned his cell phone and beeper off the day before, and John informs him truthfully that he did not want to be tracked. John then tells Stein that he was doing some investigating into the TWA crash on his own time. Stein then reprimands John, asking him, "Corey, why do you stick your nose where it doesn't belong?" Stein calls John a "loose cannon" and warns him that he is putting his job at risk.
