Chapter 20 Summary

Marie tells John that she does not understand why Griffith and the other FBI agents were so intent on finding the couple who took the blanket from the Bayview Hotel. John can tell that Marie is not happy with the way the FBI treated her in the investigation. Marie tells John that she interviewed a woman she believed was an illegal immigrant named Lucita Gonzalez Perez. Lucita told Marie that she saw a man and a woman leaving Room 203 of the Bayview Hotel with a blanket on the evening of the crash. John tells Marie about the police finding the lens cap, and then he asks if she remembers anything else about her investigation to let him know. John leaves Marie's house.
