Chapter 5 Summary
John and Kate drive back through the Village of Westhampton. Kate tells John that she wants to make two stops before going home. Kate explains that as a career FBI lawyer she can't get involved in reinvestigating the crash, but John can. She thinks that justice has not been done. They drive to a Coast Guard Station in Moriches, New York. As they drive onto the Coast Guard station grounds, Kate explains that this station became a command post after the crash as well as the place where bodies were brought before going on to the morgue. She tells John that she wants him to conduct his own investigation of the crash to find out whether it was murder. She and John then talk about how there is a threat out there that the government and most people are not even aware of...
