Summary
Frances, a 16-year-old girl, was on the bus from Raton to Santa Fe in order to meet up with her aunt and cousin to celebrate the fiestas. On the bus, she pretended to be someone else, embarrassed that her dad was the bus driver. While he attempted to engage her in conversation, she humored him for a while but then told him she was moving to the back of the bus as she had to read for school. She could see that she had hurt his feelings and thought she would tell him she loved him as soon as she got off.
