Chapters 44-51 Summary

In Paris, Gail Bond got into the habit of staying at her lab partner's apartment and then slipping back into her own apartment in time to take her son to school. One morning, Gail returns home to find Gerard has vanished. Gail suspects her husband did something to Gerard on purpose, but cannot prove it. Gerard knows the tones for her cell phone, so she hopes she might hear from him again some day.
