Summary
After Marisol reads the letters that her grandmother saved and buried, she is stunned. Unable to sleep, her mind whirling, she makes her way downstairs to the patio. Already outside is Luis, drinking a bottle of rum. When Marisol sees him, she is surprised to see wounds on his face. After asking what happened to him, he tells her that he was robbed. Internally cautioning herself that he is a married man, Marisol sits across from him and takes a drink. She tells him about what she found in the box. After Luis’s comments on her surprise, she finds herself wondering how his relationship is with Cristina.
Marisol is now determined to find her grandmother’s secret lover. Her only clue so far is that he studied at the University of Havana. She doesn’t even know his name since the letters...
