Chapter 5, Cheater Summary

Bella is at work, something that is a new experience for her now that she is no longer numb. There are hikers in the store talking about giant black bears discovered in the woods. It sounds as if they are both exaggerating about the bears. Bella only seems to notice how loudly she can hear them. She thinks about the nightmare she had the night before. Bella has had nightmares since Edward left. She often woke up screaming, causing Charlie to come to her. She notes that this time, Charlie didn't come.
