Never Cry Wolf by Farley Mowat is an autobiographical tale that chronicles his scientific study of arctic wolves in the Barren Lands of central Keewatin. Farley is hired by the Dominion Wildlife Service of the Canadian government. His services are engaged for the salary of one hundred and twenty dollars per month and he is ordered to report to Ottawa at once. When he gets there, he is put through an orientation process, introduced to the Deputy Minister, and then loads up the gear they have provided for him and boards the flight to Churchill.
