Determination
Determination is presented as the most important trait a hero can have and is shown to be much more important than strength, power, or wealth. The prince is the wealthiest and most powerful man in the world, and he is protected by the magic of the strongest godmother in all the realms, plus a whole palace’s worth of guards. In comparison, Marra is just a former princess and sort-of nun with no special skills or strength. However, she does have a humongous heart and a deep desire to do the right thing. Her determination to follow through with any task—however impossible—is what sets her apart from everyone else and makes her such a distinct hero who is able to conquer the prince.
