Summary
At the beginning of Chapter Twenty-Five, Chan learns that the team usually holds a father-son dinner in the fall. He feels sure that Abogee will not go, and that if he did, he would spend the entire evening disparaging football. He decides to not say anything to him, telling the Coach that his father is likely to be busy and asking if he can sit with Mikko and his dad. Later, Abogee comes into Chan’s bedroom and says, in English, that Coach had come into the store, talked about how good Chan is becoming at football, and told him about the dinner. Much to Chan’s surprise, Abogee seems proud of his accomplishments, and he intends to go to the dinner.
Chapter Twenty-Six takes place on the day of the father-son dinner, taking place at a military veterans hall. Chan helps...
