Chapter 13 Summary
Dallas checks over Feeney's search for a safe deposit box in Sharon DeBlass's name. Dallas is disappointed that he did not find anything, but then thinks perhaps she might have used an alias. Using Elizabeth's last name, Dallas finds a bank account with more than a quarter million dollars and a safe deposit box. In the box, Dallas finds a list of names with dollar amounts beside them. Among these names is Simpson's. Dallas points this out to her commander, but he points out that there are many men named Simpson and they cannot be sure it is the chief. Back at her desk, Dallas gets a call from the medical examiner telling her that her elderly neighbor was poisoned. Dallas goes to tell his wife and obtains a confession. The woman poisoned her husband because he was always eating the fresh cakes...
