"Jewish Short Stories from Eastern Europe and Beyond," hosted by Leonard Nimoy, was produced by National Public Radio with the goal of preserving a rich and diverse tradition of modern Jewish life through short stories. Authors whose work is read in this cassette series include Isaac Bashevis Singer, Cynthia Ozick, Isaac Babel, Grace Paley, and Philip Roth. The stories are read by Walter Matthau, Lauren Bacall, Alan Alda, Eli Wallach, Elliot Gould, Jeff Goldblum, Carol Kane, and other noted actors.
