Summary
The narrator woke up three days later on the couch wearing the fox fur coat. There was a post-it note reading “Today is the first day of the rest of your life!” (240) on the refrigerator. She went to the medicine cabinet to take a Xanax and discovered all of her pills were gone. In a panic, she called Reva and demanded she return them. She found another post-it note on top of the broken VCR with a Pablo Picasso quote written on it, this one in Ping Xi's handwriting. Having no memory of what happened, the narrator wondered if she disposed of the pills herself.
Still in a panic, the narrator went to Reva's apartment, for which she had a spare key. She looked through Reva's things and noted all of the food in exhaustive detail, including a sheet cake “with finger gouges...
