Chapter 10, The Gods-Absent Month Summary
Jane and her crew arrive in Colorado. Jane hires a driver to take them to their destination. This driver, Dave, turns out to be a farmer who is well acquainted with the horrors of soil erosion, hormone, and antibiotic use on feedlots, and the dangers of over grazing and methane gas emissions. As Jane and her crew arrive at the Dunn home, Akiko passes out on the floor of her bathroom from a severe loss of blood. Back in Colorado, Jane and her crew meet Bunny Dunn, her husband John, and their five year old daughter, Rose. Bunny and John drive the crew to the feedlot where Gale, John's son from his first marriage, is waiting. Gale shows them around, speaking to the camera about the feed given to their cows and the advances being made daily...
