Part 4, Chapters 50 - 53 Summary

In Chapter 50, Jessica stops the car and gets out to check under the hood when the lights and radio go out. As Jessica checks the battery, Kira switches the engine off. Jessica notices a car parked about thirty yards behind her. When Jessica gets back in the van, it won't start. She hears the door of the car shut behind her. The man calls her name saying he is Office Rhodes from the Orange County Police Department. He tells her that they have been looking for her and have her husband in custody. Jessica feels relief but notices the man is cocking his gun. Jessica becomes suspicious and refuses to get out of the van. The man starts shooting at the vehicle.
