Part 3, Chapters 33 - 37 Summary

In Chapter 33, Kira is still in diapers when she first sees her maternal grandfather in the cave. Her grandfather had made her cry once when he said that her daddy did bad things. He tells Kira that she and her mother will have to leave soon, in a hurry.

In Chapter 34, Jessica feels more comfortable with the idea of leaving her mother because Bea has begun a relationship with Randall Gaines. After church, Bea asks Jessica about their plans to go to Africa. She indicates only that she doesn't want Kira to forget her. Bea tells Jessica that she has always been uncomfortable with David.
