Summary
In Chapter 15, a week after Sarah’s remains were found, Tracy drove back to Cedar Grove for the funeral. She was early so she went into the coffee shop where Kaufman’s Mercantile Store had once been. Tracy remembered one day when she, Sarah, Dan, and some other children were going to build a rope swing on Cascade Lake. Dan discovered he had a flat tire and could not go so Tracy said the others would not go either. Undeterred, Sarah went inside the store and bought Dan a new tube for the tire. Tracy had followed her sister into the store and knew that Sarah was using the snack money she had been saving.
