Summary
In Chapter 17, Che can tell right away that the clothes shop to which Leilani has told him to come is expensive. There is a picture of a spool of thread on the door and a doorman who will not let Che in until he says he is with Leilani. One of the first shirts that Leilani passes Che has a price tag that reads one thousand dollars. When Che asks how it can cost that much Leilani explains to him how the shirt was made in a way that exploited no one. There are also only four others like it in the world. He tries on the clothes that Leilani pushes his way but knows he cannot afford them. In the end, Leilani buys Che some shirts, jeans and a jacket.
