Summary
In Chapter 9, Che is surprised when their parents arrange for him and Rosa to start working with a math tutor only a few days after they arrive in New York. Their parents leave Rosa and Che alone with the tutor with the promise to be back before Che goes to the gym. Sally, however, texts later that the meeting will not be done in time for him to go. Rosa talks the tutor, Geoff, into staying longer so Che can leave. Che sends Sally a text telling her the tutor is staying with Rosa. Even though he needs to go to the gym to wear himself out so he can sleep, Che worries about leaving Rosa alone with a stranger.
