Summary
In “Wednesday,” still upset about Tuesday, the narrator is in a bad mood on Wednesday. Wednesdays are orange, reminding her of a clementine. To punish her husband, she left her wedding ring in the key bowl downstairs. She wishes he saw it as a threat.
The narrator regrets visiting Nicolas and Louise. Because she cares about no one when she is with her husband, such visits are purposeless. She often misses the early days of their relationship.
The husband asks the narrator where his wallet is. Over the years, his forgetfulness has worsened (67). The more he forgets, the more he needs the narrator.
