Summary
In pages 172 - 225 of "Snowflake," Sem and Sanja dropped Harun off at the airport. The trip discomfited Sem. So much of their family life had been defined by departure (172). After Harun left, Sem encountered an old acquaintance. He remembered the man fondly, but could not recall his name.
When they got home, Sanja realized she had forgotten to give Harun a gold coin she wanted him to have. It was symbolic to her.
One day, Sem had Sanja draw a clock to help her with her memory. She reversed many of the numbers. Sem considered the distortion of time.
As Sem helped Sanja dress each day, he thought of their youth. They had now begun "to grow backward" (176).
One night, Sem thought he was having a heart attack. To comfort himself, he typed up and emailed his writings to Harun. He wanted...
