Summary
In pages 82 - 120 of "Red Bandana," while waiting for Harun's camera to take photos, Sem considered the elements of a successful photograph (83). He thought of a photographer friend named M., wondering if Harun remembered him, too. M.'s work made Sem realize photography’s power (85).
On a very hot day, Sem recalled a trip he took "with the painter Sead Čizmić" to Golobridica, "where [Sead] had rented an apartment with a wonderful open view of the city and Trebević Mountain" (86). On the trip, Sem found a "drowned scorpion in the full bath" (86). Sead kept the scorpion in a film canister throughout the war, until it disappeared.
Later, Harun seemed annoyed that Sem was "slowing him down" (87). Sem remarked on the difficulties of the "father-son relationship," considering the differences between their childhoods, and versions of melancholy (87).
