Summary
In "Me'Med," while Semezdin Mehmedinović was getting ready for work, he felt strange. He had "a dull, metallic pain" in his chest, and felt "indescribably tired" while showering (3). He told his wife, Sanja. Because they could not solve his discomfort, she "called 911" (3). While waiting for the paramedics, Sem looked at the photo of a Buddhist priest on his wall. Shortly after their arrival, "a girl in a blue uniform" told him he was having a heart attack (5). Sem suddenly felt calm, as if ready to die. He had already lived through "too much" (6).
