Areum's Home

Areum's home is located in an unnamed city in South Korea. He lives here with his mother, Mari, and father, Daesu. Not long into his schooling, Areum leaves the academic system to study at home. His condition isolates him, and often leaves him reading by himself.

When Areum is a child, his home is a happy place. As a he grows up, his home becomes more defined by his illness, isolation, and loneliness.

When Areum is 16, he tells his parents he wants to go on Chae Seungchan's television show. The team conducts the first round of interviews at Areum's family home. They tell Mari not to clean up, because they think a messy home will convey desperateness to their viewers.

Areum leaves his home to live out the rest of his days in the hospital not long after the show airs.
