Summary
In Part Three, Chapter 15, fall came. Areum could hear the wind constantly. He thought about the weather and the cold, and the origin of the phrase "Autumn wave" (129). One day while outside the hospital, a dragonfly "settled on [his] knee" (129). He considered its meaning. He was still thinking about Seoha. His understanding of love was limited to books. Finally a sentence appeared in his mind and gave him perspective.
In Chapter 16, Areum visited with Little Grandpa Jang. Throughout their afternoon together, Areum asked Little Grandpa Jang many questions. Areum particularly wanted to know why Little Grandpa Jang hated young people so much. They discussed their ages, and what it felt "like to grow old" (137). Some questions Little Grandpa Jang did not want to answer. Finally Areum decided to tell him about Seoha.
