Summary

In Part Two, Chapter 10, Areum and Mari talked about Chae Seungchan, the producer of the television show. He and Sumi had been rivals in school. Areum was curious why they had gotten married. Mari tried explaining. Though Areum asked questions, he had already learned about Mari and Sumi's past via one of his uncles. He knew his mother was popular with the boys.

The crew arrived at the house. Daesu was at work, but would "be home on the actual film date" (86). Seungchan was working with Park Narae, the writer. They explained that they would ask Areum and Mari questions in preparation for the taping. Mari explained that Areum had gotten sick when he was two.
