Chapter 52 Summary
They all gather in Regan's suite, and Wincott fills in what is known of the details of Eric Gage's plans. Regan is confused because Alec keeps trying to hold her hand and put his arm around her. She keeps pulling away and wondering what is wrong with him.
Wincott tells them that, while the truck driver's insurance company settled with the families involved, Eric Gage was also cited for reckless driving. It stands to reason, he explains, that Gage felt some guilt over his wife's injuries, which pressured him to submit to his wife's demands.
Wincott also tells them he went through Nina's medical records and found she had been a very difficult patient. Numerous medical personnel had made notes about her bitterness and mentioned she didn't want to get better. She just wanted to get even.
