Chapter 51 Summary
Nina Gage watches as the television news bulletin shows paramedics loading her husband's body into the ambulance, but she feels no emotion as she waits to hear whether his mission was successful. Then the camera focuses on a still-living Regan, and Nina erupts in a scream. She hears a knock on the front door but, rather than answer, she picks up a gun, places it to her temple and fires.
Chapter 51 Analysis
There will be no trial for Regan to endure, as both guilty parties are now dead. Without their side of the story, however, it's unclear whether she will ever have a clear understanding of the reasoning behind the Gage's plans.
