Chapter 43 Summary
Alec is trying to stay busy in order to keep Regan off his mind. He packs up his clothes and personal items and loads them in his car. As he does, his old partner, whom Alec had asked to quietly look into the Madisons' backgrounds, shows up. He tells Alec that Regan's brother, Walker, the racecar driver, has had some trouble in the past. Apparently, he was involved in two bad car accidents, one in Wisconsin and one in Florida. Neither were his fault but, while Walker was not injured, one accident had a fatality and both resulted in some serious injuries.
Alec tells his old partner to keep looking into the accidents and see if he finds anything interesting.
