Chapter 20 Summary
To Alec's surprise, Lewis does an about-face and suddenly announces Alec is back on the case. Lewis has just realized who Regan is - or, more specifically, who her brother Aiden is. Aiden is a member of the country club Lewis has been trying to get into for more than five years. Aiden just called the Superintendent of Police, demanding that Regan get 24/7 police protection.
Lewis sees an opportunity to suck up to Aiden and make Alec miserable at the same time. He assigns him bodyguard duty. "...I want someone from this office with her at all times, and I want Aiden Madison to be beholden. Got that? ...This is my ticket into the Clairmont. Don't screw it up. (pg. 132)"
