Chapter 17 Summary

Regan calls the police and reports the photo. Alec is the detective assigned to speak with her. When he arrives at her office, they show Alec the emailed photo and Henry asks if it's real or fake. Alec answers it is most definitely real. He calls for a computer tech from the police department. While they wait, he asks Regan about her relationship with Sweeney. She explains about Mary Coolidge and the case against Dr. Shields.

The computer tech arrives and quickly accesses the security built into the email. She announces the picture was sent from a cell phone. She reads the number and Regan gasps. It's her cell phone number.

The news that the photo was sent from Regan's cell phone connects Regan's attacker with Sweeney's murder for the first time.
