Summary
Chapter 5 is titled “The Radish Cure.” The image at the top of the page shows Patsy standing with her back turned to a bathtub overflowing with bubbles. Patsy is sometimes naughty, like most children, but she typically obeys her mother without too much trouble. One day, Patsy's mother fills the bathtub with “nice warm water” (71) and calls Patsy for her bath. Patsy, however, refuses to get in the tub and throws a fit instead. She then runs around the house without any clothes, continuing to yell. Patsy's mother calls some of her friends, hoping for advice. Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Grotto, and Mrs. Broomrack each say their children like baths.
Patsy's mother calls Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle. She knows that Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle knows a lot about children because there are always lots of children at her house. She has many things for children to play with...
