Katherine Mary Flannigan
Sixteen-year-old Katherine is the main character, beginning her coming of age journey as a teenager who travels from Boston, Massachusetts to the wilds of the Great Northwestern Territory of Alberta, Canada. She heads off on her journey with a blind courage, a sense of adventure, a desire to experience worldly events, an opinion of life as a childhood fairy tale, and a young impressionability.
