Flight

Flight symbolizes both the freedom and limitations that humans experience in their lifetimes. Under Master Yehudi’s guidance, Walt is able to uncover the talent of flight, but he eventually must give up the ability due to the threat it poses to his health. Nonetheless, Walt is able to recover from this turn of fortune and persevere in a quite, private life.

Yehudi’s Farm

Master Yehudi’s farm symbolizes the constraints and necessities of family life. After Walt enters Yehudi’s custody, Yehudi brings him to the rural town of Cibola, Kansas. At first, Walt cannot bear the rural area and the other residents of the farm, but in time, he grows to love and depend upon Yehudi, Aesop, and Mother Sioux, even regarding them in ways similar to a family.
