Summary
Chapter 30 starts in the form of a play, as Abby arrives at Janet’s house to speak with her. They sit down in the house, and Abby begins to talk with Janet about Mrs. Bondy. Janet tells her that Mrs. Bondy is a “cold, calculating crook” who is “blowing” Janet’s money on the expensive nursing home (240). This realization confuses and upsets Abby, who pushes back against the notion that Mrs. Bondy is a bad mother. She lets slip to Janet that she saw the Kingsmere documents in the back of her car, which confuses Janet (243). She pleads with Janet to not move her out of Northern Star to no avail.
