Summary
In "Chapter 3: Two," the narrator drives while preparing and then smoking a marijuana-cigarette. His destination is Aurangzeb’s house in Lahore where security guards greet the narrator and allow him access to the house after the guest reveals his identity as Darashikoh Shezad.
A servant invites Darashikoh inside and brings him to Aurangzeb. The two men embrace. Mumtaz, Aurangzeb’s wife, kisses Darashikoh on the cheek. Their son Muazzam is also present and starts to cry when he sees Darashikoh. Mumtaz produces a bottle of Black Label, which must have been purchased from a bootlegger for a large price. Darashikoh finds Mumtaz very attractive and tries not to stare. Darashikoh offers Aurangzeb a cigarette. Aurangzeb denies this offer, having quit smoking, but Mumtaz has not. Aurangzeb takes his sleeping son to bed, and Darashikoh lights his and Mumtaz’s respective cigarettes.
