Morton's Taxidermy Shop

Morton's Taxidermy Shop is the shop Jessa owns in the narrative present. Having been in the family for many years, Jessa's father Prentice, passes it to her after he commits suicide. Unable to face either her grief or her familial complications, Jessa spends almost all of her time at the shop, drinking while she works, often sleeping in the back room instead of going home.

As a girl, the shop is a place of comfort and safety to Jessa. She thinks often of all the time she used to spend working in the back with Prentice, watching his movements, attempting to acquire his skills and talents for the craft.
