Chapters 16 through 20 Summary
Miles doesn't return to the waiting room before the receptionist calls Harper. When Harper enters Lenz's office, Miles is not there and Lenz doesn't say where he's gone. He immediately begins to question Harper, focusing chiefly on Harper's sexual experiences. Over the course of the conversation, Harper says that his father - a doctor - taught him that not all injuries are as bad as they first seem, that he got off many speeding tickets because the police feared Harper's father would demand payment for long-overdue doctor bills, and that he believes music is romantic rather than mathematical. Miles leaves Harper a note, saying that Brahma has logged back on and that the FBI is able to complete the trace.
