Chapters 6 through 10 Summary
The phone is ringing when Harper arrives home. Miles says that the FBI has executed a search warrant at the EROS offices in New York that Jan has offered to allow tracing on the server but has locked the master list of clients in a timed safe that won't reopen for seventy-two hours. It's during this conversation that Miles says he'd talked to Karin Wheat. Harper responds that he never saw Miles online with her and Miles says he has many aliases.
Harper almost quits but Miles convinces him to stay by pointing out that "Eleanor Rigby" - obviously a woman on EROS - would be "despondent" if Harper to stop logging on. Miles also points out that Harper will be contacted by the EROS attorney. Harper's glance falls on a wooden sculpture of his father's cashmere jacket, and he knows...
